Michael Wayne

Michael’s singing journey began in the Children’s Choir at the age of 10 through 18 at Morning Star Baptist Church of Kansas City, Missouri. Starting at the age of 15, the minister of music felt that his voice was strong enough to join the adult sanctuary choir where he has been a member ever since. In high school Michael participated in concert choir as well as the district and state singing competitions. In 1997 Michael was a part of a gospel group called “The Witnesses”, which was formed for a short time by Daryl Lewis. In November of 2003, Michael was a part of an ensemble called “The Engineers” who did a one-time Christmas concert for the Union Station. In May of 2004, he joined a gospel group called Isaac Cates & Ordained of who are now gospel recording artist. Ordained’s 1st project was recorded in February 2006 entitled “Take My Life” which is currently available for purchase in iTunes, Amazon.com, and CDBaby.com. Ordained has a single called “Strong Tower” currently getting airplay in local stations in the city and cities around the United States. The full sophomore project is expected to release in summer 2012. Michael is also a vocal coach as well as the Director for the Male Chorus of Morning Star Baptist Church.

Besides his singing history, Michael began a theatrical career in 2009 casting the role of Joseph Asagi in the show “A Raisin in the Sun” at the Union Station through MTS Production Company. In March 2010, Michael performed the lead role of Judas in another MTS production of “Jesus Christ Superstar”. Also from Padget Productions, Michael cast the roles of Audrey II (the voice) and the drunkard in “Little Shop of Horrors” as well as Tim Collins in the hit show “RENT”.
